Creek Lodge Academy is not therapeutic in nature; however, SCLA has
contracted Cabinet Mountain Mental Health services, under the direction
of Michael Linderman, to offer to parents at an extra charge
therapeutic care services. Complete psychological evaluations are
also available by a licensed clinical psychologist who is on campus
twice a month. Medication reviews are available weekly by a licensed
medical doctor.
Therapeutic Counseling Programs through Cabinet Mountain Mental Health are available for all students with parental permission only. Besides one on
one counseling, CMMH offers the following special programs:
-
Adoption Group
- an all-inclusive program dealing with the issues of adoption.
Students will specifically deal with the issues of attachment,
abandonment, trust, intimacy, and rejection. Further, the connection
with the birth mother and adoptive parents is explored along with the
healing process.
-
Anger Management
- students will cover aggressive replacement training along with
identification of their own anger cycles, redirection of anger, and
interaction in interpersonal relationships.
-
CD Counseling - a study of chemical dependency and addictive behaviors and cycles.
-
Survival of Rape and Sexual Abuse
- This program includes a supportive environment where survivors can
learn to cope with their emotional traumas due to sexual crimes.
